The Local Management Team is made up of representatives (or link people) from local partner churches. A director from LYM Ltd also is a member of this group.
The group meet monthly to discuss the running of the bus, where the bus will go and the Directive Review (how the project can develop).
Our current group is made up of:
Rita Corke (Boston Baptist Church), Andy Higginson (Holland Deanery Rep), David Acheson (Holy Trinity Church), Jenny Boatwright (Boston Methodist Circuit), Thomas Vamplew (St Guthlacs Church), Janice Elley (St Andrews) and Kev Smithbone (LYM).
The Local Management Team, as part of our business plan, are now re-organising the project to allow each stop to be run solely by volunteers, under the supervision of a local church.
The Team are actively seeking the Lord’s leading in the sphere of integrating school’s work with the Bus visits to the local area.
Achievements of the Team (in previous and current incarnations) include: the initial fund raising, design and building the bus, 2009 launch on time, the formation of 10 community visits and 2011 “Beyond the Bus” training event for the strategic building of local churches with young people. They organised our 2014 gift day on Sunday 13th July to raise funds for the refurbishment of the bus after completing 5 years of service. Supporting LYM to employ our previous LYM Youth Missioner in September 2014 and in 2015 refurbishing parts of the bus and expanding a new visit to support parents at the North Sea Camp prison. Work with 10 partner churches. Employ a part-time schools worker in November 2017. Support local events in the community including Carrington Steam Rally, Pinchbeck and Gosberton. Refurbish screen technology in summer 2018.
