We are very excited to report the new roadHoG Bus ahs now been commissioned for service.
The sun shone and the sky was blue to set the scene of roadHoG 1 and roadHoG 2 parked out side the DABSI Stadium. We estimated over 200 people came to celebrate the hard work of roadHoG 1 and to give roadHoG 2 the best start possible.
We welcomed Lincolnshire Police Chief Inspector Fran Harrod to officially cut the ribbon and launch the bus. We also welcome the Mayor and Mayoress of Boston and representatives from some of our funders Boston Big Local, Boston Municipal Non Educational Charities and the office of the Police and Crime Commissioner. We also welcomed local supporters who gave us gifts to keep the project on the road.
The afternoon started with tea and coffee in the Boston Rugby Club. It gave time to give recognition for all that has been achieved through our original bus by Rev Andrew Higginson. Jen Stock gave thanks to God for all that happened through the original bus. Then a summary of how the project was able to keep on the road by the funding and design of a new ‘greener’ bus by LYM Director, Kev Smithbone. This was then followed by Holy Trinity Youth Worker, Eden Prothero, praying into the service of the new bus to young people in the area. We are very grateful to Rusty and his team for allowing us to use the club, it was a fantastic venue. The club felt so airy, homely and just a super venue. Chief Inspector Fran Harrod then inspired our guests talking about her own experiences with the bus and bus team and the importance of supporting young people. After, the speaky bits, all our guests then went outside where the bus was officially opened, giving everyone a chance to have a look at both buses.
